# Fiberglass Reinforced Polyester (FRP) Pipes and Systems

Fiberglass reinforced polymer (FRP) pipes are the sustainable alternatives for any kind of pipeline. Using FRP pipes and systems will reduce the cost of replacement and rehabilitation as well as the cost of maintenance for the entire life cycle of your infrastructure.

#### Fiberglass Reinforcement
Fiberglass reinforcement is used in different forms; mat, continuous strands and chopped strands. The combination of multiple of those are used depending on the manufacturing method and for fitting fabrication. Generally, FRP pipes are made with E glass, alumino-borosilicate glass. E-CR (Electrical/Chemical Resistance) glass are available for applications in highly corrosive environment.
#### Polyester Thermosetting Resin
Polyester resin offers many advantages, such as low cost, adequate resistance to water and many chemicals, resistance to weathering and aging, and reasonable temperature resistance (up to 80°C). The standard FRP pipes use polyester resin which is served in a wide PH range. However, to meet specific conditions of a project, it is possible to manufacture using vinyl ester isophthalic and vinyl ester resin.
#### Silica Sand
Silica sand is used in most FRP pipe manufacturing methods. As an important part in the matrix, the graded silica sand is mixed with resin to form the core layer of the composite material. The structural layer gives most of the stiffness of the structure.d as well as our aggregate are designed and produced to be completely corrosion proof and crack resistant.

## The benefits of our FRP pipes and systems
#### Sustainable
100 years expected lifespan. Completely corrosion and chemical resistant materials without requiring inner/outer coating nor cathodic protection. UV resistant and table under temperature fluctuations.
#### Simpler Installation
Thanks to the advantageous weight-to-strength ratio of FRP, lightweight pipes means easy installation without heavy equipment, even for longer pipes. Approximately 1/5 of ductile pipes and 1/10 of steel-reinforced concrete pipes. FRP material allows adjustments and modifications on the job site.
#### Hydraulic Properties
The smooth inner surface of FRP pipes (Manning = 0,009) minimize the friction loss. It optimizes the hydraulic capacity and limit the pressure lost. Optimize hydraulic capacity of gravity pipes and improve the self-cleaning capacity resulting in low maintenance.
#### Safe Connections
We provide multiple joint types, designed to be watertight and flexible for every specific application. Every type of joint is easy to connect and necessitate no special equipment or welding.
#### Engineering Material
Multi layers composite material is designed with a large range of pressure and stiffness class according to every single project specifications. Raw materials composition can also be selected to increase abrasion and acid resistance.
 
## FRP Pipes
Superlit uses 3 different manufacturing methods for FRP pipes; Continuous Filament Winding, Centrifugal Casting Technologies, and helical filament winding. Nominal diameter range from 100mm to 4000mm and working pressure class from 14psi to 664psi (up to 580psi). Biaxial FWC FRP pressure pipes are designed to absorb 40% of the surge pressure, without increasing the pressure class.

## Non-Circular FRP Pipes & Trenchless Rehabilitation Systems
Channeline non-circular pipes are manufactured with hand lay-up and spray lay-up method. These pipes are suitable for both trenchless fully structural rehabilitation and open-trench application for gravity pipelines. The exclusive multi-segmental technology is perfectly designed for relining large diameter and odd shape sewer and storm water pipes.

## FRP Jacking Pipe (Trenchless)
FRP Jacking pipes are designed to be installed inside a tunnel made by microtunneling technique with a tunnel boring machine (TBM). All the FRP mechanical properties are gathered to design a high axial strength pipe with a wide range of diameters (up to 3000 mm).

Each pipe is delivered mounted on a full-face coupling with fully integrated EPDM gaskets allowing 0,5° to 3° according to different diameters. Also available in slip-on version for repair intervention or tie-in utilization. For pressure pipe applications, we can supply a full-corrosion proof restraint FRP coupling.
